Meet the Client
Providing care at home for children and adults with life-limiting and long-term conditions Love Nursing was a dream between father and son, Adam had been working in healthcare for over a decade when he and his dad Bobby came up with a vision of a health care provider that delivered what was promised. Sadly, Bobby passed away suddenly aged 59 but Adam worked towards turning this vision into a reality, and so Love Nursing was born.
Being a new business in a sea of competitors who have been around for years, Love Nursing knew they needed something to help them stand out, but also help show potential service users the standard of service they offer. With a unique business model, it was clear that an animated explainer would be the most effective marketing tool.
With services completely bespoke to each client, we had to discover what that process could look like from beginning to end. This included learning all about how Love Nursing put together a package of care in their unique bespoke way.
We built a story around a middle-aged gentleman and added elements that would hopefully allow the story to be relatable to a range of people. It was at this stage we decided to use a really minimal colour palette of just grey and shades of purple. Using this minimal colour palette allowed us to give the animation a really strong tie back to the Love Nursing brand.
The vision we had for the minimal colour scheme came into fruition during the concept stage. This unusual design decision made the animation bold, and individual but still allowed for the calming feeling of the animation to be visualised, in the concept art.
Storyboarding is the first time the client really gets a chance to visualise how the animation will look and flow from beginning to end. It gives everyone a chance to make any last changes to the language, scenery, colours, and characters before we enter the production stage. Because our process is rock solid, any changes or concerns have been worked out by now and storyboarding is a smooth process.
Creating an entirely minimal colour palette for this animation meant the animation wizard had to be really clever in their use of tone and shadow to make sure the animation didn’t feel flat. We also created a whole host of characters, that help this Love Nursing video have a really relatable human element. Over the moon with how this completely individual animation turned out, we couldn’t wait to share it with Love Nursing. They couldn’t believe how amazingly the wizards had transformed their services into an engaging animated explainer video.
